    The Cleveland, Texas area started back in 1836, while the actual community started in 1878 when a local judge, Charles Lander Cleveland, deeded land to the Houston, East and West Texas Railway with the stipulation that a railroad station be named after him.

    Incorporated in 1939, Cleveland is located in Liberty County, Cleveland is 45 miles north of Houston on Highway 59.

    Located amidst pine and hardwood forests and bordered on the northwest by the Sam Houston National Forest; the Cleveland area is a rustic environment where life moves at a slower pace and people are friendly.
